In this video we learn how to move the upper body, including the rib cage and shoulders. I want to remind you to start with the basic posture as was taught in the first lesson, and also that learning to belly dance over the internet does not constitute an alternative for taking classes with a teacher.
The wonderful music we hear in this lesson is from an album by the Nazareth Orchestra
with the soloist Lubna Salame, an album that is a special tribute album in honor of 100 years anniversary to the legendary singer Oum Kolthoum, the Diva of Arab music. The album can be bought in the boutique, here:

The video starts with 2:30 minutes of me doing dance improvisation; I believe it is important to see your teacher’s dance style before learning from her. Following that, there are about seven minutes of belly dance lesson. We learn how to do the twist, how to walk with it, and more.
The music I dance to is the song “Ra’etak” (”I protected you”) from Hussein el Masry’s album “Arabian Emotions”.
