Do I need to take ballet or other lessons first?</b><br>I would like to learn contemporary dance. I'm 26, have never taken a dance class before in my life. I am not looking to go to competitions or make a career of this, I just have a strong attraction to this style. It is so beautiful and emotional....I have actually cried several times just watching people perform. So, is it possible to just jump right in to Contemporary, or am I going to need to build my dance moves/lingo in a more basic class first? I live in Dallas (uptown), so I am sure there are plenty of great studios around, but if anyone could name one close by I would appreciate the info.
