4. on pauses you can still move your upper body/hands to give a flowing feel, but your feet should be stopped or on some steps you tap.

2 cont. or if you’re say with your gf, you can probably put your right hand on her waist. if you’re a girl, your left hand goes on the guys shoulder.
3. a lot of hip movement comes from proper footwork, best advice i can give you is practice in front of a mirror trying the steps and find something you’re comfortable with and looks good.–cont–

lol kinda late response but might still help you or someone with the same questions:
1. “how fast” you move your feet all depends on the song you’re dancing to. the simplest answer, i guess, is as fast/slow as you need to to land your foot on the proper count.
2. hand movement is a lot of personal style. though for this starting position, if you’re a guy you want your left hand holding her right palm-to-palm, and your right hand on her left shoulder blade –cont..–

If you’ve been dancing for 14 years then there’s no need for you to watch, “Learn to Dance Salsa : Basic Steps for Beginners.”
I’ve been dancing all my life, plus, salsa is in my blood, figuratively speaking. Lol. But others who overview this video might need a little istance. Plus it helps those who are attempting to teach it.

When I danced with my girl, I used the side to side step dance. It was the only dance i knew. Then she asked me to do this dance…it didnt turn out too good. So I am going to learn this and when we dance again, i’ll suprise her. Wish me luck!

Well I went to a salsa club to “try” out the moves that I have learned on here and let me tell you. Man was it a blast…I mean a downright great time…I was able to put forth everything that you showed and as you did…It came out great…Of course i’m no where as smooth and light on the feet, but hey working to get to your spot is all the fun.
