When I was 9, I tried jazz, didn’t like it, tried ballet, found that boring, tried hip hop and fell in love! I would recommend hip hop! Especially if you’re looking for fun more than a career.
P.S. 9 is not too young, its a great age!

Wow if you think 9 is too old, what do you think about me starting to dance at 31? Yes you read that correctly, 31. If you want to become a pro dancer then I would start with ballet, since almost every other dance style relates back to it. If I can only choose between jazz and hip hop, I would start with jazz so you can learn good technique. Hip hop is fun and you can always start that one later one.

I started when I was nine =)
So did a looot of people I know. Nine isn’t too young at all.
Just go ahead and try out whatever you find interesting! I would recommend jazz though, because it can open up ballet and lyrical and contemporary dancing for you, too.
Hip hop is great too, i just don’t prefer it.
If you can, do both!

Absolutely not, you're never too old to know how to dance. If you postpone it you'll only keep saying I'm too old at that age. I, personally don't like hip hop dancing, I like jazz more. It's more classy/professional.

Definitely. I’m 15 too, and i just started dancing last year. I felt way too old to have just started dance, especially since all my friends that dance have been in it since they were 3, but after a while it felt like my age didn’t matter at all. Trust me, the first few weeks you’ll be tempted to quit, but when you start to pick things up it’s so exciting. I suggest starting with hip hop because that’s where you’ll find the most people around our age, and the teachers are usually really easy-going. Just try to have fun, and if you still feel uncomfortable, you can quit!

Your age doesn't matter! There are people that start dancing at as young as the age of two and then there are some people that start dance classes when they are in their 60's! If you have the passion and desire about the art of dance, what are you waiting for? Go get 'em! Go start those dance classes ASAP!
